Omnium E-Cargo CUES 10s as seen on GCN

The new edition of the workhorse, do anything, lightweight, fast & smile generator, we love the new Omnium E-Cargo!

Until recently we couldn't get this bike with proper gearing for hills, super heavy loads, and general adventuring, but that has changed at long last!

So when our first demo bike arrived recently, one of our loyal bike courier customers set us up with the opportunity to lend Conor from GCN the bike to try while he follows around Sky on his route for a day of bike messenger life.

When the GCN video is officially out, we will link it here:

Whats new?

The new CUES Di2 drivetrain option offered with Omnium E-Cargo or E-Mini-Max has a wider range of gears than the old Nexus 5 hub gear option, and is now much more durable, reliable and simpler to maintain. I know this sounds like the opposite of what people say about belt drive + hub gear, but it is true. Belts and hub gears do require maintenance, and its not stuff you can do by yourself.

The standard bike comes with a 44t chainring and 11:43t cassette, but we can swap the chainring out for a 38t or 34t version free of charge if you need lower gears.

Rack options for any situation

Configure the rack area however you need. Omnium offer so many modular options for their front rack area (as you can see below). The tilting QR rack bracket means you can store the bike is tight spaces, or remove the rack easily, swap it out for a different setup. If you like, your Omnium can be a Swiss army knife, with suitable cargo storage solutions for many of life's little logistical challenges.

1 child good, 2 children not-that-good.

The only thing an Omnium is not amazing at is carrying more than 1 child in comfort. A rear rack with a child seat fitted is the best solution for >1 children. But to be fair, this bike was designed to be lightweight and fast. We are not claiming it can do the child carrying thing better than something which has a bucket for putting many small people inside of, or bikes with a long bench seat at the back. But when you only need to carry 10-40kg day to day, the Omnium is superior in every way to its rivals.

And the best way to buy a high value bike like this is to use the Cycle To Work Scheme!

If you earn the London Living Wage, and work 45 hours per week (£32,409 per year), then the standard £5,799 E-Cargo or E-MiniMax will only cost you £4,175.28 with a 28% saving.

GCI Calculation

Find out today if your employer offers the cycle scheme, and if not, why not?

Pro Tip: GCI (Green Commute Initiative) offer the best "end of hire payment" options, so taking possession of the bike at the end of the hire agreement is less expensive that with their rivals (CycleScheme, Cycle2Work etc.)

And of course, at Paradise Cycles we can customise any bike you buy from us so it suits you, your intended use, your home storage, your security requirements and so on. Our team are available to go on test rides, talk through everything, and make sure that you get the best experience while you are making the important decisions.
